The UK Chamber of Shipping is pleased to advise that the UK Sailing Academy (UKSA) has achieved course recognition for its Mental Health Awareness and Wellbeing Training Course.

This recognition solidifies UKSA's position as a leader in providing high-quality training and education within the maritime industry.

The UK Chamber of Shipping, representing over 200 shipping companies and maritime service providers, has awarded recognition to UKSA after a rigorous evaluation process.

"We are thrilled to receive this recognition from the UK Chamber of Shipping," said Chris Frisby, Director of training and operations at UKSA. "It underscores the dedication and hard work of our team in delivering unparalleled education and training to aspiring seafarers. This acknowledgment further motivates us to continue pushing boundaries and setting new benchmarks in maritime education."

UKSA's courses cover a wide range of disciplines within the maritime sector, including professional yachting, superyacht crew training, and maritime career pathways. With state-of-the-art facilities and a faculty comprising industry experts, UKSA ensures that its students receive comprehensive training that prepares them for successful careers in the maritime industry.

UKSA delivers its Mental Health Awareness and Wellbeing Training Course from its training centre in Cowes on the Isle of Wight. It also delivers this course remotely and on-board vessels. This course sits alongside the UKSA Mental First Aider course which is accredited by MHFA England.

Kathryn Neilson, Director at the UK Chamber of Shipping said "As the maritime industry continues to evolve, it is essential to invest in education and training that equips individuals with the skills and knowledge needed to excel. Seafarer wellbeing is essential for promoting safety, health, mental resilience, productivity, and retention. UKSA's course recognises the interconnectedness of physical, mental, and social aspects of seafarers' lives, and aims to raise awareness of the importance of maintaining and managing mental and physical wellbeing".

The recognition from the UK Chamber of Shipping serves as a testament to UKSA's unwavering commitment to excellence and its pivotal role in shaping the future of training in the maritime industry.
