Yamaha’s 2012 SuperJet has arrived in Australia. With its sharp new 'carbon' look matched with black hull and deck, it is proving to be the most popular incarnation of this model Yamaha has ever produced.

In the age of high performance, supercharged, three seat personal watercraft it’s easy to forget that the modern personal watercraft evolved from the humble 'stand up' style craft. While other manufacturers have pulled out of the stand up segment in recent times, Yamaha is committed to continuing in this market for many more years to come.

'The Yamaha SuperJet is an exciting and affordable way to hit the water' says Iain MacLeod, National Sales and Marketing Manager for Yamaha WaveRunners in Australia. 'Our market for these craft in Australia is growing fast and our range of customers is very broad.'

The reason for the broad spectrum of customers comes down to the fact that the SuperJet is the ideal compromise for a variety of different sports.

Dirt bike riders find the switch to a SuperJet during the hot summer months is an easy transition, when the thought of donning the full motorcycle protective gear isn’t as appealing as putting on a life jacket and hitting the water. Plus coming off your SuperJet just means getting your hair wet and a short swim back to the craft.

Many surfers are finding the SuperJet to be a great way to fill in a flat weekend when the surf is too small to be bothered paddling. And water-skiers and wake boarders are using the SuperJet as an easy way of getting their fix of high energy water sport without the need for a boat and crew to tow them.

There’s also a new wave of former riders coming back to the sport. Riders who, in their glory days before life got in the way, spent many hours on these craft perfecting leg drag turns amongst other tricks. Riders who were once a little more fit but have lost none of the skill and technique required ride these craft effectively.

Yamaha’s SuperJet has under gone continued development in recent years improving stability, agility and increasing acceleration. Stepping up on to the more modern version of this craft is surprisingly easy for these experienced riders and the feeling of picking up where they left off is immensely satisfying.

With a RRP of just $11,170 and Yamaha Motor Finance available at just 8.99%, the Yamaha SuperJet is a great way to hit the water this summer. With a more physically demanding style of riding and the ability to carve and bank into turns the SuperJet is the perfect craft for riders who crave a challenging and exciting ride.

Yamaha WaveRunners are available from Yamaha’s Australia wide network of authorised dealers. All Yamaha WaveRunners come with a three year factory warranty.
