The 2012 London Olympic Sailing Regatta in Weymouth is now just 10 months away (29th July -11th August 2012). Sail-World.com with large audiences around the world will have its largest ever Olympic media team and it will break new ground with a record 3.5 million event newsletters. Parent company TetraMedia Publisher Rob Kothe said today ‘During the Qingdao Olympics the Sail-World team was sending out 80,000 newsletters each day providing the most detailed coverage of the Olympic sailing regatta of any media organisation in the world. ‘Four years on the sailing media landscape has continued to tip towards the Internet and by July 2012 Sail-World.com will be sending out 140,000 single click unsubscribe newsletters each day as part of its Olympic coverage. 'Sail-World’s Olympic series will be a 25 newsletter run, a total of 3.5 million newsletters. While it sounds a huge number, remember that by mid 2012 the monthly unique audience across its U.S., Canadian, UK, Europe and African, Asian, New Zealand and Australian sites will be bumping on 250,000 sailors. Across 2012 Sail-World.com will, on currently indications, record at least two million unique readers.' Richard Gladwell, Sail-World Editor at Large and New Zealand Editor will be heading up the Sail-World Olympic newsletter team coverage.
Britain’s best known Yachting journalist Bob Fisher has been covering the Olympic Classes since 1976 will be bring his perspective to our Olympic coverage. Our North American coverage will be strong with David Schmidt, our US Editor, following the U.S. and Canadian teams in their selection trial battles and will be dockside in Weymouth. Spanish and French speaking Jeraldine Kennedy from Sail-World Europe will be increasing the depth of our European and Central and South American coverage. Sail-World founder Rob Kothe will be paying particular attention to the efforts of the Australian and Asian teams.
The Sail-World team will be photographing across the courses on a daily basis. As happened in Qingdao we will be also publishing contributions from a host of well known yachting photographers. Sail-World.com Olympic newsletters series will start on October 2011, ramp up with our on site coverage of the Perth 2011 event and follow the Olympic Class World Championships in the first half of the year before shifting to daily output for the Olympic event. Kothe added 'By the mid 2012 we will be delivering feature articles, video both interviews and action, images and news to 250,000 readers each month via 25 different versions of our websites (mobile and geolocated). 'Currently Sail-World.com has 45,000 North American online newsletter subscribers across its racing and cruising sites in the USA and Canada, another 45,000 in the Asia Pacific and 20,000 in UK, Europe and Africa. The last of these is our fastest growing market, as the London Olympics approaches. 'With that significant audience we have the ability for industry advertisers to chose regional markets, decide their own advertising schedules and change their own advertising content, running multiple ads in each ad space on daily rotation hyperlinked to different web addresses. 'Companies wishing to further expose the Sail-World.com Olympic coverage audience to its promotional and commercial news need to contact our media sales representatives, who will be happy to quote on a range of very cost effective media packages,' Kothe added.
