If you’re in the market for a boat, here’s a heads up about what is currently available on the second-hand market from Ensign Ship Brokers.

On the Gold Coast docks at Mariners Cove sits Cracklin Rosie, a value for money 2000 model Farr 40. At $190,000 this is the cheapest Farr 40 on the market and newer than most too. A former Quantum Racing yacht, she was set up as a full grand prix yacht and comes with an impressive sail inventory including Grand Prix classic legal sails (near new) and optimised IRC sails.

She was also fitted with plenty of upgrades to make her more raceable offshore, including a fridge, asymmetric spinnakers, optimised sail package and different battery systems.

The Farr 40 went through a complete re-build to a better-then-new standard and has a full B&G electronic fit-out. She features considerable upgrades to her general structure around the keel grid and attachment areas.

Cracklin Rosie is by far the best kept Farr 40 in Queensland and comparable with many of the pro teams in the rest of the country. This really cool racing boat needs a new home.

Also on the docks is Mr Beaks Ribs, a 2004 Beneteau 44.7 listed at $270,000. This versatile racing yacht and family cruiser has just had an interior re-fit and presents very well.

This particular yacht was prepared for an all-out assault on the Australian circuit in 2004 and has many noticeable results to her name. She features a fantastic carbon working sail wardrobe from proven Beneteau master Ian Short as well as a optimised rig package.

She also features two aft-quarter double berths and a very large front cabin in a 'Pullman' style configuration.

This Beneteau is priced to sell and ready to go.

If racing isn’t necessarily your thing, Ensign has plenty of listings to suit your needs including Stella Maris, a 70 foot cruiser listed at just $447,000. Now that’s a bargain!

Originally designed as a racer by renown Californian designer Alan Andrews, she has been providing her owners with years of comfortable, safe cruising while retaining the pace of a racer with a 200 plus mile-per-day capability.

Having just been through a re-fit, owners are keen to sell making Stella Maris well worth an inspection.

These are just a few suggestions, but Ensign Ship Brokers has plenty of boats on offer and are here to help you find the right one.
