Marine Auctions - great results, positive feedback

'boats under the hammer at Marine Auctions event'    Marine Auctions
Adrian Seiffert of Marine Auctions reports 'a massive weekend' and excellent results at Sunday’s auction at Runaway Bay. The event attracted more than 200 registered bidders and many more interested parties, swelling the ranks to nearly 400 people, all enjoying the flurry of auction action and marvellous Gold Coast weather.

'We had bidders registered from all states and New Zealand and Hong Kong,' he says. 'We auctioned 30 boats, and 50% sold on the day, and I believe by the end of this week we will have achieved a 70% clearance.'

The auction sold $2m in boats, including a Goldstar 54 at $205,500, which is now heading off to Melbourne, a Kiwi 65 which sold for $453,650 and a Scimitar 1010 that attracted a lot of bidders and eventually went for $375,500, and will soon be off to the Sunshine Coast. The Vitech 74 went for $380,000 and was taken home by an owner on the Gold Coast.

The auction was also successful for the Noble brand which Seiffert represents. 'Nobles are always in demand,' he says, adding that the boat and trailer package proved popular, selling for between $17,500 to $35,000 depending on size.

'Feedback about auctions was great. We achieved good prices, so sellers were in a good mood. There was a lot of bidding. People are back to buying boats. They are starting to realise prices are rock bottom, perhaps lower interest rates and more flexible finance options, people are feeling more positive with the election looming.'

According to Seiffert, Marine Auctions will be running regular auctions at Runaway Bay, most likely bi-monthly. The next general auction will be hosted at Rivergate 29 June and the schedule of online auctions will soon be announced.
