The weekend of March 16-17 brings Rosehill Gardens alight with the 11th staging of the Rosehill Trailer Boat Show, where the cream of the state’s marine dealers will be on hand and ready to deal.
Formerly known as the Great Silverwater Boat Show and staged at Silverwater Park, just a couple of kilometres from Rosehill, the show has gone from strength to strength in the 11 years it has occupied the smart premises at the Rosehill Gardens Racecourse and Events Centre.
Owner-organiser of the show, the Boating Industry Association of NSW (BIA) expects more than 10,000 to attend the popular exhibition, which will trade from 9am to 5pm over both days.
With free admission and ample free parking, the show offers a grand day out for the family, with ample food and drink opportunities and tranquil settings on the lawns to enjoy lunch.
Domenic Genua, Marketing and Event Manager for the BIA, said the Rosehill exhibition had cemented itself as one of the best regional shows in Australia.
'It was conceived originally to provide marine dealerships with an opportunity to clear stock in readiness for the new model year looming, but it has become much more than that in recent years,' Mr Genua explained.
'No doubt many dealers still make use of that original intent, but the consumers have come to recognise Rosehill as the place to do a deal and pick up a bargain. Be it a boat, boating equipment, fishing tackle or any of a range of outdoor gear.
To its credit, the BIA undertakes visitor surveys and consistently reacts to valuable visitor feedback to determine exactly what show visitors wish to experience whether it’s at Rosehill or even the impressive Sydney International Boat Show.
'Current visitor feedback tells us that people come to Rosehill with money in their pocket and they want to spend some of it,' Mr Genua said.
'Consequently we’re calling on distributors and manufacturers of all manner of equipment such as accessories, tools, spare parts, any small inexpensive products so show visitors can make a purchase on the spot.
'Not everyone can afford to buy a boat and even those who can afford the vessel of their dreams are not going to make a snap decision and buy one at the show, but they want to buy something, they want to take something home from the show.
'To any organisation out there selling, producing or distributing goods with any appeal to the great outdoors, the Rosehill Trailer Boat Show could provide your turnover with quite a boost.'
For those who rate ‘wetting a line’ among their favourite pastimes, a visit to the Rosehill Trailer Boat Show is surely an absolute must.
There’s enormous interest in the Yamaha Bream Australian Open being conducted over that weekend.
This catch and release tournament, the only boater-only round in the tournament, will see the successful anglers travel convoy style to the show with their prized catches for the all important weigh-in.
Show visitors will not only be on hand for the weigh-in, but will have the opportunity to chat with the competing anglers and see their boats and fishing equipment first hand.
'Rosehill has become very popular with the fishing fraternity, with fishing tackle exhibitors offering outstanding deals and show visitors equally quick to take advantage of them,' Mr Genua said.
Of course, it is the Rosehill Trailer Boat Show and those who wish to check out the latest vessels on the market will be in their element.
More than 50 of the state’s top marine outlets, some even travelling from outside the Sydney area, will be on hand and ready to deal.
From canoes and kayaks to rugged offshore fishing boats, handy inflatables to specialised water ski and wakeboard boats, if you’re into boating Rosehill is the place to be on March 16-17.
Volunteer marine rescue groups will stage displays, their exhibition space donated by the BIA, and RMS will be on hand for those seeking to update their paperwork, including boat registration and boating licences, while those needing to check out their insurance matters will head for the Club Marine stand.
Really, you cannot afford to miss this one!
