Lewmar to launch innovative app ahead of METS

A first for any marine equipment supplier, Lewmar has utilised cutting-edge augmented reality technology to allow its products to be viewed like never before. As visitors walk around stand 11.101 at METS next week, special markers will be located near ten key products.
Using any camera-equipped Android or Apple device, customers will be able to see the products move and function, slice through outer shells to observe internal mechanisms and view product information and specifications all right in front of them in virtual space.
A universal marker, allowing all ten products to be viewed, is also available to download and print from within the app and take-home cards will be available from the METS stand.
Ben Kay, Marketing Manager, commented, 'whilst the app will bring a level of fun and interactivity to our stand unseen before at METS, the real benefit we saw in the technology is the expandability and unlimited possibilities in the way products can be viewed and explained. The app will receive updates in the future as new products come along and we see it becoming an invaluable tool for our sales people out on the road.'
