Lewmar has today named BLA as the new exclusive distributor in Australia. BLA was established in 1974 in Brisbane and has become the leading distributor in the territory. The headquarters, still in Brisbane, boasts 12,000m2 of warehousing space and regional facilities in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth offer further localised warehousing and support staff resources.
Already representing many successful and respected international marine brands, BLA have well established relationships with key chandlers, dealers and OEMs.
Commenting on the appointment, Lewmar Distribution and Aftermarket Manager Rob Crowe says, 'It was time to take our European business model to Australia. Having one exclusive partner in the territory, with whom we can develop a close working relationship to ensure Lewmar products are within easy reach of all consumer and boat builder customers, is vitally important. BLA have an impressive network of national retailers and installers, have very good supply chain arrangements with key OEM builders and have a powerful marketing division. Australia is a big place, and the BLA regional offices in every major state will make Lewmar products more accessible than ever before in this key marine market. This is a long term strategic move and I am excited to have BLA representing the Lewmar brand'.
The deal was signed in June and BLA has taken over the distribution of all Lewmar products in Australia since 1st September 2012.
