Are numbers or engagement the key? What is the secret of a good sailing event for the audience?

- What is the Future of Yacht Racing?
Five years on from the first WYRF we look at the predictions made in 2008 and consider which ones proved accurate. We also look at whether entertainment is costing the industry its sporting ethic, is one design going to be increasingly the way forward in the current economic environment and how does sailing capitalize on the developing markets. Joining this panel are Knut Frostad from Volvo Ocean Race, Mark Turner from OC Sport, Pat Shaughnessy from Farr Design, Ben Ainslie…and more!

Simon Howell from Cardiff Harbour Authority, Gwyn Brown from The Tall Ships Race and Axel Bauerdorf from Kiel Sailing City join others to discuss the benefits and returns for cities hosting sailing events. Do successful city venues need to have public sector investment? Has hosting events led to sustainable benefits?

Make sure you do not miss your chance to attend the leading Conference on the business of yacht racing where high profile representatives from all over the world will gather to discuss the most challenging issues and trends facing the industry.

Co-located with the WYRF is the fourth edition of the Yacht Racing Design and Technology Symposium focusing on the latest technological developments in the industry.
