Boating enthusiasts are in for a treat on the weekend of 15 & 16 March with the running of the Sydney Trailerboat & Outdoor Leisure Show.
Sydney Showground home of the Sydney Trailerboat and Outdoor Leisure Show
Many would be familiar with this event having started over 50 years ago at Silverwater Park near the old Boat Club. Over the past 10 years it has resided at Rosehill and this year sees the event move to Sydney Showground, Sydney Olympic Park (near Homebush), to take advantage of the larger facilities available.
Visitors to the show will be able to see a great array of trailer boats for most boating tastes and with lots of gear for boating also available, it will be a great day out for boating novices and enthusiasts alike.
The show will feature displays of fibreglass and aluminium boats, all manner of relevant marine engines, canoes and kayaks, fishing and general boating accessories of every style.
More than 60 exhibitors, among them, many of the state’s leading marine dealerships, will be displaying their goods and services to the experienced buyer and standing ready to assist beginners.
Leading insurance provider, Nautilus Marine Insurance, is another who has backed the move to
Sydney Showground. Managing Director, Lyndon Turner was immediately on hand to offer support and sponsorship for the event. 'We believe the show is a perfect fit for our products, we view boating as a fun and safe activity and our team will be on board at the show to help make the event enjoyable for all who attend,' he added.
To further support the show, Nautilus Marine have joined the show organiser in putting together the Nautilus Marine Insurance Entertainment & Education Precinct. Visitors can see fishing demonstrations at the Supertank, hear from experts about looking after your engine, buying a boat, as well as tips for maintaining your trailer.
To add to this, visitors can meet the Nautilus Boating Stars, including fishing fanatic and sporting star Andrew Ettingshausen, wakeboarding sensation Josh Sanders and PWC champion James Masterton.
Kids can take the opportunity to pop into the GWS GIANTS Kids Zone for a whole lot of fun and activities. On the Saturday, those with a passion for footy will find it convenient with the Sydney season kick off of the AFL taking place at Spotless Stadium next door. 4.40 pm is the scheduled start of the game between the GWS GIANTS and the Sydney Swans.
Admission to the boat show is free and it will operate from 9am to 5pm on both days. There is easy access from the suburban rail network with the Olympic Park station located directly opposite the showground entrance and for those who prefer to drive, there are numerous parking options, including street and relatively low-cost parking stations. It really is an event not to be missed!
