North South Yachting, Australian importers of Salona Yachts, is proud to announce the Australian launch of the new Salona 44 Performance Cruiser at the 2010 Sydney International Boat Show, 29 July to 02 August. Salona Yachts President, Kresimir Secak, will be attending the show to support North South yachting in the launch.

The Salona 44 has been created to be adaptable and flexible in both specification and use. With an impressive variety of options including carbon mast, foam cored bulkheads and furniture, three interior timber finishes, various keel configurations and a choice of standard or infusion hull lay-up, the 44 can be tuned up or down for racing and cruising as required.

The Salona 44 has been designed for sailing simplicity whether racing competitively or cruising both short-handed or with family and friends (on-board configurations allow for alternate sailing set-ups adapting to the circumstances at hand). Internally, she is available in a three or four cabin layout and features a roomy saloon with large galley and two heads/showers. The yacht is finished impeccably in hand-crafted timber creating a light and airy feel.

Speaking after a recent visit to the Salona factory, Bob Mulkearns, MD of NSY, said: 'The Salona 44 really demonstrates fantastic all-round performance. She is quick off the mark in light air, very steady as the breeze builds and easy to control in gusts and strong winds. The yacht is understated, not wrapped up in gimmicks, but she has a real performance ethic in her core.

'What really sets Salona apart is their ability to offer an incredible range of flexible options delivered with close personal service. Incredibly, Salona are still able to maintain a production yacht price.'

Two Salona 44's have been sold to date in Australia. One will be competing in Hamilton Island Race Week and the other, an IRC performance optimised model, will be competing in the 2010 Sydney to Hobart.
