Grand Pavois - Multihulls to the fore

'Grand Pavois'    Gilles Delacuvellerie

Grand Pavois, 17th - 22ndSeptember, Port des Minimes. A market sector in full development, multi-hulls represent an integral part of the market for the French, as well as the international, marine industry. The month of September being decisive for the launch of new products, Grand Pavois will present between thirty and forty units, with several world previews.

This year, Grand Pavois is creating a specific Multihull space, with two dedicated pontoons, laid out and decorated; with hard-hitting, accurately targeted communications (specific signage, press releases, newsletters, etc); and with partnerships, the idea being to confirm Grand Pavois' position as the unmissable venue for multihulls on the Atlantic seaboard.

On the multihull entertainment and feedback side, Grand Pavois will have the good fortune to welcome, on the Events pontoon, Yobalema, a Challenge 42 (12.70m long by 8.60m wide), which regularly carries out trips for Voiles sans Frontières. These trips are to provide medical equipment and medicines to remote populations in Siné Saloum in Senegal ... Built by Naval Force 3 in La Rochelle to a design by the Mortain studio, five years have passed, and Yobalema is coming back to La Rochelle. A time to celebrate together, and achievements to be praised!

Long located only on La Plage des Minimes, exhibitors in the Watersports and Light Sailing area this year will have the opportunity to have a second booth in the Show hall itself. Some professionals have, in fact, long wanted to be at the heart of the event, in order to introduce their products in the best possible way to all Show visitors.

The Beach will still display trial boats, stands for different brands and partners such as LaCharente-Maritime, Sosh, etc, as well as a Tahiti stand, and will provide an excellent location for demonstrations and initiations, since two 500 m2 basins will be installed, one for wake board and the other for SUP (Stand Up Paddle). Trials, initiations and demonstrations will take place every day for all interested visitors. At Grand Pavois, more than 1500 tests are carried out over six days: it’s a real bonus for the enthusiast, to be able to go aboard in the basin or at sea, to try out the available equipment.

It's a turn-around also for Wood Village, which is back to its original location near the Guest of Honour's home country's hall. Created in 1989, this space offers shipyards, artisans and creators who work with and around wood, both conventionally and innovatively, the opportunity to present their latest works in-water, and on land. In this space 'where boats have a soul', Wood Village, with its authentic spirit, gathers the faithful, enthusiasts or just simple visitors, always fascinated by the high-quality work offered by these shipyards. As in every Show, pleasure, discoveries and business will be on offer. In-water or on land, modern or traditional, all the marine boatyards and professionals have made wood the very spirit of their work. These yards put their expertise to the service of their customers, lovers of beautiful craftsmanship. Wood Village also shows the spirit of watersport, present among secondhand and antique dealers, and craftsmen. Each one participates in the unique atmosphere of this high point of the show.

For the first time, an Eco-Sailing area will be on display at Grand Pavois. This centre will bring together companies introducing innovations tuned to the environment and to sustainable development, such as the new solar, electric and wind energies, as well as eco-design with new manufacturing processes and materials ... a space where visitors, pleasure sailors, professionals and journalists will be able to admire the developments and innovations which have been carried out in recent years by these professionals.

The objective of this area, created in 2013, is to offer a specific reception area to improve the arrival of customers targeted by exhibitors, and to provide the best possible background to optimise the success of their business relations.

Building on its success, the Premium Lounge is expanding, and allows:

- The benefit of a return trip for your customers, by official car, from the station or La Rochelle airport, to the Show;
- A valet parking service, to take charge of customers' vehicles at a dedicated queue-free Show entrance;
- Direct access to the Grand Pavois Premium Lounge (equipped with cloakrooms, wifi, press rooms, reception rooms and rest areas …) and with coffee, pastries, refreshments, snacks and champagne,
- A personalised welcome, with a receptionist who will contact you as soon as your customers arrive ...
