Being amongst 14 grand prix boats charging off the startline was a great feeling for Norths’ NZ Marketing Director, Andrew Wills. 'It was pretty scary too as the masts lean over to windward huge amounts when the canters luff on the line,' he says.
North Sails Australia secured the top five spots at the end of racing, and each day of the event served up a south-easterly that started out with a fair amount of strength in it, easing back to 10 knots later in the week.
'It was great to go over to Aussie and see how fiercely they compete on IRC, often with races being decided by one second,' says Andrew Wills. 'We actually lost one place on count back after tying with someone.'
'We had a fantastic team on-board the boat and a lot of people commented on how amazing it is to see that the team on Pussy Galore are more like family than friends. That is largely credit to the way Anatole and Lissy Masfen treat their crew with such generosity and respect.'
