High praise for Sydney show exhibitors

'Powerboat brands on the marina went all out with their exhibits and sales pitches.'    Jeni Bone
Displays were judged and honoured by a specially convened panel that closely examined exhibitors for staff and staff presentation, signage, product displayed, innovation, visual appeal, lighting, visitor access and information available.

Domenic Genua, marketing and event manager for the Boating Industry Association of NSW, organiser of the Sydney International Boat Show, has lavished praise on the efforts of the more than 300 exhibitors displaying their goods and services at the 41st Sydney International Boat Show.

Sponsored by NSW Maritime, the show has attracted thousands of boating enthusiasts to the Darling Harbour Exhibition Centre and the spectacular Cockle Bay Marina over the six days.

'Our exhibitors really deserve credit for the effort they have put in to give the show a highly professional appearance,' Genua said.

'Many have spent $100,000-plus on their displays, while some of the major players have invested upwards of half as million dollars.

'I don’t think the public appreciates the effort that goes into the displays.

'Imagine establishing a major branch office and staffing it for six days while still maintaining operations at the head office,' Genua added.

Displays were judged and honoured by a specially convened panel that closely examined exhibitors for staff and staff presentation, signage, product displayed, innovation, visual appeal, lighting, visitor access and information available.

The Haines Group, headed by legendary identity John Haines, claimed a double winning Best Hall Display and Best Overall Display.

Yamaha’s attractive and spacious effort was judged Best Engine Display while Sea Ray specialist Andrew Short Marine claimed Best Boating Presentation.

Raymarine was judged Best Chandlery and Electronic presentation.

Six exhibitors were honoured with Display of Excellence awards, Yanmar, Hella Australia, Racing Line, Lewmar, Sailing Scene and Multi Panel.

'The association is delighted with the effort from all our exhibitors, it’s their hard work which helps attract visitors to the show,' Genua added.
