BIA WA rebrands and refocuses boat show

'The Club Marine Perth Boat & Leisure Show will be held in the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre, right in the centre of town.'    MIAA

Based on member input and feedback from the public and exhibitors, the BIA of WA has revamped and refocused the Club Marine Perth Boat & Leisure Show for 2009, with its aim squarely on families.

“It’s a new look show,” explains event manager, Nikki Joyce, referring to the inclusion of related leisure industries in the annual event, running 12-16 August at the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre.

“We are also planning a fantastic entertainment program for all the family, amazing prizes, great discounts and deals, as well as the newest, sleekest boats, the most innovative boating technology, the hottest boating and leisure accessories.”

This year’s show will add camping, caravanning, water sports and motorcycles to its repertoire, along with the perennially popular demonstrations, activities, displays and presentations.

“Kids under 16 are free and there’s a real family focus,” says Nikki. “We’re taking a totally different approach to the stage and activities, including a pirate theme, prizes and a treasure hunt, as well as all the technical demonstrations, fishing demonstrations and hands-on things people enjoy. There’s a stand-up paddling demo as well, which will capitalise on this extremely popular new craze.”

Another key attraction according to organizers will be the emphasis on “fantastic deals at the show”.

“We know people are finding it hard, so this is the opportunity to move stock. The aim is to broaden our scope and appeal to a wider demographic. Last year more than 12,000 people attended and we’re hoping for between 18-20,000 this year. Visitors will know that they are going to get the best deals they can at the show.”

To encourage exhibitors to take maximum space, the BIA has reduced its rates.

“We are giving our exhibitors reduced rates to ensure they take the same or more space at the show, and we’re pleased to report that we’re almost full. All halls will be open and people can expect great bargains at the show.”
